Trains to Baldock
The Chequers is two minutes walk from Baldock station. Situated
on the Great Northern line, Baldock is 39 minutes ride out
of Kings Cross and 33 minutes from Cambridge. The nearest
Inter-City station is Stevenage. At most times during weekdays
there are two through-trains per hour from Kings Cross to
Baldock. On leaving the station building, turn left towards
the cross roads and then right into Whitehorse Street at the
traffic lights.
Travel by Car
From the North (A1M) - Exit at Junction 10
and turn left at the roundabout. Keep going until you reach
the traffic lights and turn right into Whitehorse Street.
From the South (A1M) - Exit at Junction 9
and turn right at the roundabout. Then just keep going on
the main road into Baldock (passing the George IV pub on your
right). Second exit at the next roundabout (Tesco’s
on your left). Straight on through the traffic lights, over
the pedestrian crossing and then right at the next roundabout.
You’re really close now! The Chequers is on your right
hand side, No 28, opposite Baldock Hardware Store.
Parking
Park your car at The Chequers by driving through the blue
gates and finding a space. There is also parking on the main
road outside the building, alternatively there is a public
car park 3 minutes walk away. A footpath leads from the car
park through the grounds of the United Reform Church coming
out on Whitehorse Street. Turn left for The Chequers.
